October 2025 – Elder’s Message

A Message from the Elders

And the Good News is… “It is finished.” John 19:30. What did Jesus mean when he said these final 3 words from the cross? What was finished? It was God’s plan to save us from going to hell that Jesus finished. Adam and Eve sinned against God, which caused all people to be separated from Him. God loves us too much to let that happen.

John 3:16-17“For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

So, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be born of a woman, who was a virgin, to live a perfect life, to die, and to be raised to life again. Jesus did not sin. He lived a perfect life, was crucified, died, and was buried, and rose again on the third day, which proves that He has the power to conquer sin and death. What does that mean for all humans? It means God loves all humans. It means Jesus died for all humans. But what God the Father did and what God the Son did doesn’t do you any good unless you believe it. Jesus is who He says He is, our one and only Savior who has taken away all the sin of the world.

John 1:29“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”

John 14:6“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Since Jesus has taken away all the sins of the world and all future sins, is there anything we need to do to ensure we are saved? Yes. Mark 16:16“Whosoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” You are saved, all your sins have been taken away. Jesus has done it all—believe it.

Psalm 22:31“They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!”

Faith is a gift from God. Reading God’s Word, hearing God’s Word, attending Bible studies, and Sunday church services are some ways to help one understand God’s Word and believe in Jesus. It is through the Holy Spirit that we have faith, and He uses God’s Word to cause one’s faith in Jesus to increase. What comfort believers have, knowing they are saved without having to earn it.

Ephesians 2:8-9“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Believe!
