“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him” (2 Corinthians 2:14).

When was the last time you saw a parade? Maybe when you hear “parade” you think of July 4th or, if you like to brave the cold in Bemidji, maybe the Night We Light parade at the end of November.
But look at this verse. There’s a parade you’ve seen much sooner than that. God says your life is a triumphal procession, a victory parade and it is…always!
But wait! “My life is a mess, I have troubles on one hand, difficulties on another, and sin everywhere in between,” we say. If anything, shouldn’t we just go around gloomy, sad, and give up the fight against sin?
That’s not what God tells us. He tells us that He’s leading us in a triumphal procession…always! That means the victory is yours today…and always! How so? Our victory in life doesn’t come from within us, but from outside of us. You see, since Jesus is alive, since Jesus rose from the dead, since Jesus won your forgiveness, since Jesus is ruling all things for the good of His people, since Jesus is leading your life to the eternal victory of heaven, then your life is a victorious triumphal procession!
Since God has brought you to faith in Him, since God empowers you to fight against sin, since God through His Word gives your life a pleasing fragrance to the people around you, your life is a triumphal procession! It is a victory parade that ends in your eternal home in heaven! That’s something to rejoice about…always!
Thrilled to be part of Christ’s triumphal procession, always, just like you,
