“When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about” (Luke 2:15).
Christmas is upon us once again. Are you ready? Presents bought? Gifts wrapped? Preparations made? Have you thought of everything? How busy is your Christmas?
The devil loves to distract us from what is most important. He loves to get us to focus on non-essential things. He loves it when life’s worries, cares, and pleasures become more important than the one thing needful. And how often we succumb!
And yet, wonder upon wonders, to a world He created but didn’t recognize Him, to a world so easily distracted by everything else, God came. He came lowly and humbly to do what was impossible for us to do for ourselves. He came to live our lives perfectly for us. He came to die the death our sins earned us. He came to save us!
Take time today to consider this miracle of God’s grace and love: He was born to save you! Worship your God made flesh this evening in church! If you’re away, take time to read and enjoy Luke chapter 2. Your God has come to save you!
A blessed Christmas to you!
