“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father- to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen” (Revelation 1:6).

If you’re royalty, you can expect certain things, right? Respect, riches, wealth, honor, prestige, majesty, etc. etc.

This passage says that God has made YOU royalty in His eternal kingdom. YOU are part of THE kingdom of THE almighty and infinitely loving God! So…do you feel like it? Being part of God’s kingdom should mean you are free from trouble, pain, sorrow, problems, right? Are you? I’m not and I’m thinking you aren’t either.

So what’s going on? You see, God doesn’t operate with the same ideas or expectations as sinful humans, His are infinitely greater. In God’s kingdom, THE King Christ finds His greatest glory in freeing humans from their sin with His own blood. In God’s kingdom, THE King Christ set aside His glory to be born in a stable and die on a cross to rescue humans from the worst enemies possible. In God’s kingdom, THE King Christ is most concerned with bringing people into His eternal kingdom, than giving them distracting temporal amenities. In God’s kingdom, THE King Christ rules over all with almighty power and saving love for the good of His people no matter what! Being part of that kingdom means real royalty!

So thank the Lord that His ways are so much greater than our ways! Thank the Lord that YOU are part of His eternal kingdom with Christ as your King of kings!

Blessed richly to have Christ as my King, just like you,

pastor
