“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
Are you tired of politics yet? đŸ™‚ It seems that politicians from every political stripe will do their best to try to discredit their opponents in any way they can. It seems that every day we have to siphon and filter what we hear on the radio, see in the news, or read on the internet whether it is really true or not.
We live in a world thirsting and starving for truth, a world that desperately needs the truth whether they want it or not.
What an incredible blessing it is have the ultimate truth! In a world full of error, dishonesty, cover-ups, falsehoods, you and I have the one source of absolute truth: God’s Word. In God’s Word we’re given the stark reality that we’re all sinners who deserve nothing but eternal death. But in God’s Word we’re also assured of the glorious reality that in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are fully and freely acquitted by God of all our sins.
It’s God’s Word that gives us the truth. It’s God’s Word that gives us confidence for life. It’s God’s Word that gives us peace in a world of turmoil. It’s on God’s Word that we can rest all our confidence. It’s God’s Word that has never and will never change. It’s God’s Word that gives us joy now and eternally. “Your Word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations” (Psalm 119:89-90). “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever” (1 Peter 1:24-25).
Thanking the Lord for the Lutheran reformers taking us back to Scripture alone, just like you,
