“I am the Lord’s servant,’ Mary answered. ‘May it be to me as you have said.’ Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1:38)
Christmas is almost here once again, are you ready? Are there things still left on your “to do” list? Still presents that need to be bought? Still preparations that need to be made?
With so many things on our minds, it can be easy to forget just how to be ready for Jesus’ coming. How are we ready?
How was Mary ready? Out of the blue God sent His angel to her, God sent a message to her, God showed His favor to her, God the Holy Spirit would conceive the Child within her, God was bringing her Savior into the world. Notice that she wasn’t busy doing this or wanting that, but simply ready to receive whatever the Lord was giving her.
That’s how you’re ready for Christmas too! Being ready to receive all that God wants to give you in that manger: Himself, Jesus your Savior, the One who comes to bring you life eternal.
May we once again hear the Christmas account about a Savior born for us and with hearts of faith say, “May it be to me as you have said.”
Thankfully receiving the grace of God, just like you,
pastor
